My favourite Things | Srish

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens,
bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens.
Brown paper packages, tied up with strings,

these are a few of my favourite things!

Aloha everyone! Welcome to Favourites Week on L4W!

Today I wanted to share with you some of my favourite song covers that I have stumbled upon on youtube in the past couple of months. I have always been obsessed with covers, especially when the singers connect with their audience through their voice, style and music. So without further ado, let’s dig in!

Drake – Controlla cover by Alex Aiola

Thanks to Conor Maynard for introducing his music to me. Here’s to a beautiful voice!

Conor Maynard is the king of covers (for me), so you better check out this one!

Drake – One Dance cover by Conor Maynard

Sam Tsui and Kurt Hugo Schneider, when together, create the best and most innovative music ever. Here’s to Adele’s songs’ Patty Cake version!

Adele – Send My Love cover by KHS, Sam Tsui, Madilyn and Alex G

I love 5SOS and every song they release with a passion. I found these guys covering one of 5SOS’s original track for the Ghostbusters movie, and I thought it was worth a share.

5SOS – Girls Talk Boys cover by BTWN US

Have you heard Vidya’s covers? You may know her for her amazing mashups! I have been subscribed to her channel for ages. I could just recommend that you watch any of her covers, because they are all that good.

Selena Gomez – Same Old Love and Mere Sapno ki Rani (mashup) by Vidya Vox

Who doesn’t like Armaan Malik? I’m sure I don’t have to say anything about his music. It speaks for itself.

Justin Bieber – Sorry cover by Armaan Malik

Let’s end on a desi romantic cover by Shirley Setia. I’ve enjoyed her covers a lot, especially the ones she’s done with KHS. Here’s one I really liked.

Arijit Singh – Sanam Re cover by Shirley Setia

Hope you have an amazing day and hope you enjoy these covers!

Here’s to even more blogging!

PIKU : Movie Review | Srish

Hey Guys!

Last month I seated myself in a cinema seat and decided to watch Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachan and Irrfan Khan on the big screen in the movie PIKU.

Genre: Comedy, Drama

Release Date: 8th May, 2015

Cast: Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Irrfan Khan, Jishu Sengupta, Moushumi Chatterjee

Director: Shoojit Sircar

My Star Rating :  (3.5/5)

Piku is a movie that revolves around a father-daughter relationship. The storyline has everything you can expect in your at-home daily life. Piku Banerjee (Deepika Padukone) lives with her father in CR Park, New Delhi. Piku is an independent woman who earns for the family, looks after her father’s needs and has strong opinions. Piku’s father, Bhashkor Banerjee (Amitabh Bachan) is shown to be modern in his views about relationships, however, he possesses every single trait you can expect in your grandparents, and a little more.

The movie does revolve around constipation. Yes, you read it correct! The main scenario revolves around the fact that Piku’s father has constipation, which leads to certain problems in their lives. The arguments and confrontations between Piku and her father convince you that Bollywood is getting ‘de-glammed’ and sharing reality on the big screen. It resonates to a middle class person’s family life in a very genuine way. You can actually relate to the characters and I feel like that is big step forward for Indian cinema.

Rana Chaudhary (Irrfan Khan) enters the picture as the owner of a cab company. Frustrated by his employees’ disinterest to take Piku and her father to Calcutta, he joins them on an oh-so-average roadtrip. The minute detailing of every event that takes place in the movie is beautiful. The cinematographer, director and producer have done a great job to make the movie a perfection. The subtle and the not-so-subtle comic aspect of the movie is something that keeps you hooked.

The movie is definitely fast paced for a comedy-drama film. I definitely give it a thumbs up and I’d say you should definitely go and watch it!

See you soon L4W!

Laddoo Love | Srishti

Isha! She is our own Laddoo. It is friendships week on L4W so I’ll have to talk good about her 😛

But hey hey hey. I have known you for 13 years now, AND I was your friend for all that long. Now THAT deserves a round of applause. If you ever need a person to rely on, in regard to your personal issues or school issues or work issues, Isha is the girl for you. You can share your mind with her and get logical answers. Laddoo and I end up having intellectual discussions so often just because we like to discuss social life, issues, media and the world.

Our Laddoo is a gem by heart and the world’s best best friend. We have shared our whole life with one another and we continue to do so. That’s because she is loyal too. Her hard work is an inspiration for me. Whenever I feel down, or I don’t feel like doing any sort of course work, Isha acts as my motivation. That’s the best quality of my bestie.

Okay. I’ve appreciated you a lot now. Ufff, can’t do that anymore. Okay lol jk. But seriously tho.
I just thought I’d end up this friendships day special post by summing up our lovely moments together (urgh I sound so cheesy).

Remember, I borrowed Breaking Dawn from you? I ended up having chicken pox and I returned it to you a month later 😛

Remember, those backstage nervousness before our shows? Omg, I wish we could relive those moments.

Remember our voldy chats? I mean of course who can forget those? Golden moments *wink*

Remember when we used to meet in the break time? And then I had to have you in my class for 2 years!

Remember playing connect and that weird name game whose name I don’t remember?

Remember the bio classes? I don’t need to say more about those bio classes 😛

To all these beautiful moments and many more to come, HAPPY FRIENDSHIP’S DAY!

See you next time

Quirky Confessions | Srish

I love the ending of a movie where two people end up together. Preferably if there’s rain and an airport or running or a confession of love.

Taylor Swift

Well hello there everyone! How have you been? It has been a long time since we have done a post on here, but no worries, we are back! Back with a bang (metaphorically, ofcourse).
This week on L4W is ‘confession week’. I had to think a lot while writing this post because I couldn’t really remember much that I had to confess, but I hope you like it!

In middle school, there was a very cute boy that every other girl would be crushing on. Just for the sake of this post, let’s call him Jack. Jack was in the class right across from mine, and my friend, let us call her Amanda had a huge crush on him. My friend and I had a bet with her, where the forfeit for Amanda was, that if she lost she would have to go and speak to Jack. You know, talk, maybe flirt a little. That was A LOT for us middle school students. My friend and I ‘won’ the bet and my Amanda did the forfeit and it was hilarious. However, two days later, we realised that we had actually lost that bet. But, till date we have not mentioned this to Amanda. This is like our little secret that we always laugh about. But I guess, now it is out there for the whole world to know! 😛

I have another confession. I stalk One Direction full on. I am like a full on fangirl. It is to such limits that I have Harry Styles, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson’s twitter bookmarked on my phone. It is ridiculous. But I confess.

Okay…..I have not read The Fault In Our Stars. I love reading and romance is my genre, but it depresses me to read depressive books. I like a story that gives me fulfilment. But, after watching the movie, I am convinced that I need to read the book. I will do it guys, I will I promise.

I will confess some random things because I don’t really know what else to confess in terms of my life 😛 My first ever celebrity crush was Cole Sprouse. My second one was Dylan. I don’t really know why, but then again I loved The Suite Life of Zack and Cody!

I hope you liked a few of confessions! Have you ever lost a bet and not told the other person so you wouldn’t have to forfeit? Share it in the comments down below!

See you next time

And we will stay together.

What I look For in a Guy | Srish

Hello everyone!

This week on L4W is guy week! So I get to do an unconditional rant on guys! Well, I guess I’ll keep that for later. I thought that this week I would share what I look for in a boy through the medium of drawing. So I asked my dear friend Mallika to join me and we both made a list of what we look for in a guy. It was then time to turn this list into a collage! I hope you guys like it!

What I look for in a Guy!

Until next Tuesday guys
